Champagne Rosé de Saignée 1er Cru Brut Geoffroy Magnum
Champagne Rosé de Saignée 1er Cru Brut Geoffroy Magnum is a refined and characterful cuvée, designed for those seeking an authentic, taut, and personality-rich rosé Champagne. Signed by Geoffroy Champagne, it is made from pure Pinot Noir and stands out for its winey profile, vibrant freshness, and aromatic intensity that make it immediately recognizable.
Territory and wine style
This Champagne comes from a clay-silty terroir with deep marl presence, in a vineyard with an average age of 25 years. The cuvée is classified as 1er Cru and is offered in the Brut version, with a low dosage of 4 g/l. The indicated vintage is 2018, an element that contributes to defining a more precise and gastronomic wine, capable of combining expressive immediacy and structure. The vinification involves manual harvesting, cold maceration, and spontaneous fermentation, with malolactic fermentation avoided to preserve tension and gustatory momentum.
Tasting notes
Visually, it impresses with its ruby red color, intense and inviting, unusual and fascinating for a rosé Champagne. The bouquet opens with floral and fruity sensations of rose, wild strawberry, and raspberry, evolving towards more mature notes of blackberry. On the palate, the aromatic continuity is clear: the sip is fresh, dynamic, and supported by the typical structure of Pinot Noir, with a pleasant winey finish. The texture is elegant, the perlage accompanies without overwhelming, and the finish leaves a clean, savory, and well-defined sensation.
Recommended pairings
The style of Champagne Rosé de Saignée 1er Cru Brut Geoffroy Magnum makes it suitable for a versatile yet demanding table. It pairs well with shellfish, salmon tartare, seared tuna, sushi, and sashimi, but also with white meats, roasted poultry, and mushroom-based dishes. Its fruity imprint and good structure make it interesting even with delicate cold cuts, soft cheeses, and Mediterranean cuisine dishes, especially when looking for a sparkling wine capable of accompanying the meal with more depth than a lighter rosé.
Serving temperature
Serve the Champagne Rosé de Saignée 1er Cru Brut Geoffroy Magnum at 8-10 °C, in a wide sparkling wine glass or in a glass that enhances aromatic expression. Due to the structure and complexity of the wine, it can benefit from a few minutes in the glass to open up better, especially if served in magnum format.
