Nibbio della Sala 2020 Chardonnay Umbria IGT Castello della Sala Antinori
Nibbio della Sala 2020 is a white wine of great personality signed by Antinori, a refined expression of Chardonnay produced at Castello della Sala, in Umbria. It is a dry, structured, and enveloping wine, designed for those seeking an Italian white capable of combining elegance, aromatic complexity, and drinkability.
Territory and style of the wine
The Umbria IGT designation enhances a territory suited for the production of characterful white wines, where the mineral component of the soil helps define a clear and recognizable style. In this context, Nibbio della Sala 2020 interprets Chardonnay with a rich and contemporary cut, yet always consistent with the identity of the place and the winery’s winemaking imprint. The limited production and care in every phase make this wine an interesting choice for those who wish to buy wine online with a high-end positioning.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it presents with an intense straw yellow with golden reflections. On the nose, it offers ripe and complex aromas, with hints of peach, candied citrus, vanilla, almond, and a mineral nuance reminiscent of flint. The sip is broad and silky, supported by balanced freshness and pleasant sapidity. The structure is well-defined yet harmonious, with a long and persistent finish that recalls the wood aging and bottle evolution.
Recommended pairings
Nibbio della Sala 2020 naturally accompanies shellfish, baked fish, delicate vegetable risottos, and light preparations of white meats. Thanks to its structure, it can also be served with soft cheeses of not too intense flavor. It is a versatile wine, capable of enhancing elegant dishes without overshadowing their balance, ideal for both a refined dinner and special occasions.
Serving temperature
The ideal temperature to serve Nibbio della Sala 2020 is between 10 and 12 °C. This way, it best expresses freshness, aromatic depth, and softness. If opened in advance, it can benefit from a few minutes of oxygenation in the glass to develop its aromatic profile more fully.
